Puzhao

Puzhao
Puzhao Temple, under the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia, is situated in Kluang County, Johor State, Malaysia, with Venerable Shi Ji Cheng serving as its abbot. Since its inauguration on July 11, 2015, the temple has been actively engaged in various Buddhist propagation activities, primarily focusing on meditation and Buddhist studies courses.

From May to September each year, the temple hosts a national college private life camp and a seven-day intensive meditation course, aimed at providing college students with opportunities to learn about Buddhism and practice meditation. Additionally, short-term meditation courses such as Chan One(禪一), Chan Two(禪二), Chan Three(禪三), and Chan Five(禪五)are irregularly organized to introduce beginners to the basic concepts and methods of meditation.

During November and December, the temple conducts seven-day, fourteen-day, and twenty-one-day meditation courses, guiding both domestic and international individuals interested in meditation to establish correct practices and methods.

Pu Zhao Temple also organizes a series of Buddhist studies courses and seminars to promote orthodox Buddhism, including lectures on the Heart Sutra(心經), the Universal Gate Chapter(普門品), the Practices and Vows of the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra(普賢行願品導讀), the origins and development of Buddhism(佛教起源與開展), and special lectures on the thoughts of Master Yin Shun(印順導師思想專題講座會).

Furthermore, the temple promotes cultural arts, hosts Buddhist music propagation concerts, and organizes Heart Sutra calligraphy exhibitions, showcasing the Heart Sutra written by local calligraphers. During the Lunar New Year, Pu Zhao Temple also holds a spring couplets writing competition.

As a dharma city that promotes meditation and upholds Buddhism, Pu Zhao Temple greatly needs the strong support and funding from the public to steadily and enduringly fulfill its role and mission.

Devotees are encouraged to purchase "meditation cushions / mats or statues of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva," with the proceeds being transferred to the temple's bank account to support its daily operations, which is also a way to contribute to the maintenance of Pu Zhao Temple.
