Q & A

What the differences between "7-Days Meditation Retreat", "Varsity 7-Days Meditation Retreat" and "7-Days Chan Meditation Retreat" ?

"7-Days Meditation Retreat" and "Varsity 7-Days Meditation Retreat" are foundational meditation courses, primarily designed for beginners or first-time participants. "Varsity 7-Days Meditation Retreat" is often scheduled during college holidays and mainly targets college students.

In both "7-Days Meditation Retreat" and "Varsity 7-Days Meditation Retreat", each meditation session lasts 30 minutes. Detailed guidance is provided on the seven-point sitting posture and yoga exercises, with two meditation teachings offered daily.

"7-Days Chan Meditation Retreat" (or higher) is open to participants who have attended at least five meditation courses. Each meditation session lasts 45 minutes, with only one teaching session per day.

"7-Days Chan Meditation Retreat" does not include instruction on the seven-point sitting posture or yoga exercises. Participants are expected to have a certain level of experience and be familiar with meditation hall rules, course rhythms, and procedures. It is a more intensive and advanced meditation course.

How do I stay updated on new courses?

Simply "Register" and enable the "Receive email notifications" option.

Does "Online Registration (Course)" accept mixed use of Traditional and Simplified Chinese?

Yes! Whether you are filling out the form on the Traditional Chinese page or the Simplified Chinese page, you can use a mix of Traditional and Simplified characters (applicable in Chinese only).

Can I apply both "online" and via "PDF"?

Please do not do this. Submit your application through only one method to avoid disrupting the workflow of the volunteer team behind the scenes.

What are the benefits of "Online Registration"?

  • Simple and Easy
The browser's auto-fill feature can automatically input your name, email, address, and other details, making the application process simple and effortless.

  • Streamlined Process
Compared to PDF, online forms can be automatically converted into electronic reports, eliminating the need for manual processing by volunteers. This reduces their workload and minimizes the chance of errors.

  • Easier Enlightenment
Did you really believe that? If so, maybe you shouldn’t come after all.

Can I help students who are not familiar with online registration?

  • Yes, that is fine! However, it would be ideal if you could guide the student to handle the process themselves and complete their own registration.

  • If you use your own email address to assist other students with their registration, please note that the "Letter of Acceptance" will only be sent to your email.

  • Alternatively, if you help the student set up a new email account and use it to register online, the "Letter of Acceptance" will then be sent directly to the student’s own email address.

What should I do after submitting the registration form?

Simply wait for a notification from the "Wisdom Light Secretariat." Please check email inbox regularly (especially your Spam / Junk Mail folders).
